Cindy Sherman (19. ledna 1954, Glen Ridge, New Jersey) je americká fotografka a filmová režisérka nejvíce známá svými konceptuálními autoportréty. Sherman v současnosti žije a tvoří v New Yorku. Roku 1995 obdržela cenu MacArthur Award.

Fotografická kariéra

Sherman pracuje v sériích a cyklech, typicky fotografuje sama sebe v různých kostýmech. V reakci na fotografy Roberta Mapplethorpa a Andrese Serrana roku 1989 Sherman nafotografovala cyklus "Sex".
